Ahead of the network upfront, it was reported on Futon Critic, and confirmed by Liberty Television executives that the fledging network has ordered two dramas that they liked from pilots.
E.K., a retro coming of age story set in the 1980's, has been ordered for a full season of 22 episodes.
Fortune's Son, a drama surrounding a family run investment firm, has been ordered for a front 13 episodes.
Since both shows will be heavy on drama, not action, the price tags on both shows is said to be extremely reasonable.
Liberty would not discuss what nights it had in mind to air the freshman shows.
Since it has been previously confirmed that Liberty plans to air a movie of the week, a 1 hour news program, and a 1 hour reality show based around the Guitar Hero franchise, the new network's fall lineup is already taking shape. That's 6 hours of prime time already known. What isn't known is the total number of hours that Liberty will offer its affiliates. Will it be a conservative start of 10 or 12 hours, or something closer to a full 22 hours of prime time?
Stay tuned.
