Established in 1997, the ratings promulgated by the industry alliance in effect in 2005 are;
TV-Y Appropriate for all ages
TV-Y7 Appropriate for children 7 and over
TV-Y7-FV Programs in the Y7 category with more intense or combative fantasy violence
TV-G Appropriate for a General audience
TV-PG Parental guidance suggested
TV-14 Parents strongly cautioned - probably not suited for children under 14
TV-MA Mature audiences only
Within these categories there is an additional tier of ratings, which indicates the specific content concerns behind the age ratings. These labels include;
S: Sexual content
V: Violence
L: Coarse Language
D: Suggestive dialogue
TV-MA is not suited for our network offerings regardless of the timeslot. TV-14 would only be appropriate at the 10:00pm slot.
TV-Y Appropriate for all ages
